I need to have a simple wiring to wire a control for 3 individual solenoids that are normally closed. I need to power on with switch, but use one of 3 momentary buttons to select which solenoid will be turnt on. But I need to have other 2 solenoid to be turned off when any one button is selected to be on. Basically only one possible active at a time for quick selection. I can't seem to wrap my head around how to configure this...this is a DIY boat livewell project I am conceiving. Thanks for any help.

We need info on at least the type of solenoids you have. When you apply power and remove power does it return to it's normal state or does it require the polarity to be reversed in order to go back to normal?

Electric Solenoid Valve Normally Closed
DC12v
working current 420ma
coil resistance 27.7
rated power 5w.
Automatically closes without power.

You said momentary switch. Is that momentary switch energizing some kind of latching relay? Or is it just a momentary setup?

Just a momentary switch.

Unless there is a better option.
Generally I want it to work kinda like a KVM switch box.one button active at a time, selection of a different button turns off the previous active button.

What is going to keep it on if it is just a momentary switch.

Not sure. I need a switch that can be disabled/turned off when another is pushed... not sure how to do so. Figured there was a way to make a momentary switch preform the activation of its Solenoid until another momentary switch is selected to select another Solenoid. Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree.

If I could wire a KVM switch to handle 12 volt... that would be my fix.

So you need a momentary switch to latch till another one is pressed, and it stay latched till another is pressed. Is that correct?

So I think I figured how to do 2 solenoids and 2 momentary switches. For now I think I have a working plan.
