Is there a way to wire a relay to send out a ground signal (as a radio mute signal) when it receives a 12V 500ma current from a sensing device? Thanks for any help

Yeah no problem. Using a relay, connect posts #30 and #85 to ground, and post #87 to the mute wire. Post #86 goes to your 500ma/12V+ trigger wire.
