Update: I made a rookie mistake. The blue and black wires needed to be swapped. Once I did that, everything works as it should.

I'm attempting to wire a proximity switch to allow a relay to bypass my clutch start switch. I've attached a sketch of how I have it wired, but I'm not getting the expected results. I thought the blue wire on a NPN switch was supposed to show ground when the switch is made up, but I think it just outputs a negative voltage so of course it's not working properly. Any help would be appreciated in solving this wiring issue.
