Sorry, if this is such a newbie question, but I'm adding a 7" LCD screen into my car for navigation and movies, but the screen only has two wires: power and ground.  Now, I want to make sure that the screen isn't on when the car is on, but only when needed.  I want to wire in a switch which leads me to my big question . . .

I know that automotive devices are 12v (hence, this site), but all the 12VDC switches are BUTT UGLY and HUGE.  I like the smaller toggle or rocker switches, but they're all rated at 125VDC.  Can I use these?  Would it kill anything?  Anybody know where I can get some nice 12VDC switches?

Thanks!

as long as the switch will handle the power it is fine, many places have tons of 12VDC switches, look at digikey.com, or mouser.com, or https://partsexpress.com/
