I would like to put remote start alarms on my 99 Dodge Ram and my girls 96 Sunfire. Both of them are 5 speed trannys. Does anyone know the relay wiring for bypassing the clutch sensor and for it not to start if its left in gear? Any help would be appreciated?
on my 2003 5 spd mustang. I hooked a realy into the switch on the clutch pedal. I don't remember the pinout, but the basic idea was that the switch on the clutch was shorted when depressed. So I just T spliced both of the wires on the switch to the relay and then gave the the relay Positvie 12volts, and hooked up the Ground when start wire from the alarm (I used the wire that rolls up the windows when the remote start is pressed).
That made the car still have to have the clutch depressed normal to start it with the key like stock, but the alarm could no start the car without someone pressing the clutch. I am in the process of playing with some momentary switches and my short throw shifter. Basically installing them so that there is a switch for every position other then neutral. All the switches will ground right to there mount and then the other wire from all the switches will become one and go to that relay on the clutch. The switches are always closed, when pushed they are open. SO this wire will be the negative for the relay. I've been playing with it forever. I can get it to all work but my mounts for the switches aren't good enough and break. One day I will get it. I've been thinking about making a fiberglass piece to house everything. Who knows but you get the idea.

the simple way out is...
On my girlfriends 2000 mitsubishi mirage I just took the two wires from the clutch switch (on the pedal) and T-tapped them together. So basically the clutch as far as the car knows is always depressed. Only draw back is you can start the car without pushing the clutch in. Isn't a big deal.
I just like to add, if you t wire the Clutch pedal switch and your car is equipded with a cruise control, then the cruise control will not work any more because it things that the clutch is pushed , safty device.
I tried this out this weekend. my girlfriends car working fine with cruise control? Although her car is as basic as it gets. Took me about 30 minutes to wire up the whole alarm. Was basically no wires in the thing.
I'd say go with the relay on the clutch switch. It basically just two wires that short when the peddle is depressed. SO you just T-tap a little length of wire to the both wires on the switch. Then you hook up the "ground with remote start wire" and give the other side 12volts. This will make the clutch become depressed only when you remote start it. Pretty simple. And it doesn't matter if the clutch switch is negative or postive. Someone on here can give you the pinouts. I am no relay expert it took me 3 fuses to figure out I had to cut out that little resistor that was soldered to the relay. I still don't understand what that is.
I am in the process of testing out a circuit that would detect if the stick is in gear. The problem is that everytime I shift, the dectection metal would rotate a little bit. So it will work fine for a while, until the metal piece gets turned 360. I am still trying to perfect or modify it. Will let you know if I come up with something better. It would be dope to remote start a 5 speed without worries.

On my '94 Celica, the cruise control still works fine, and I T-wired the clutch pedal switch.
