:star:First of all thanks for this great site! posted_image

#1 I would like to have my parking lights flash faster like on some newer cars. right now each flash is about a sec. each.

#2 I would also like to have my reverse lights and just my low beams light up with the domelight when I disarm. i'm not even sure where and what wires I should use. I've used a volt meter with no luck. Thanks again Dave!

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix and I upgraded my brake lights / turn signal to LEDs and the flashing pattern increased. The LEDs make the car think that the light is out but the light wasn't. So you can try to see if that would work for you too.

You weren't really clear if the dome light does the turning on already, so this will only work if the dome light is turning on with the disarm already. First things first the dome light is a light green with black stripe (-) or light blue (-) both are located at the body computer, which is located behind passenger dash near the blower motor. Which is going to be your trigger for the two 40/30 amp relays that you are going to be using to turn on the headlights and reverse lights. Also you are going to need one more relay so that your headlights and reverse lights don’t come on when you turn on your dome light normally with the car running. Now the headlight wire is a dark blue (-) which is found at the headlight switch and the reverse wire is a light green (+) which is located in a 18 pin connector behind drive side dash next to steering column.

RELAY 1 (doesn’t makes the headlight and reverse lights turn on with the dome light when the car is running)

Connect wires on all the terminals but 87 but don’t forget to insolate it. Take the wire that you attached to the dome light and connect it to terminal 30. Now split the wire coming off terminal 87a in two (you may want to diode isolate them so that they can’t feedback on each other, better be safe then sorry). Then connect 85 to the ignition wire which is Pink located on your main key ignition harness and put 86 to a good ground.

RELAY 2 & 3 (makes headlight and reverse lights turn on with dome light)

Next you have to find yourself a good constant 12volt source, which is Red and located on you main key ignition harness and a good ground. Take the two remaining relays and put wires on all the terminals but 87a but insulate 87a so that it can’t touch anything and cause problems in the future.   So 86 87 85 30 should have wires on both relays. Take one relay and connect the wires coming off 86 and 30 together. Now that you have 86 and 30 connected, put these wires to the constant 12volt and connect 85 to one of the dome light wires. After that connect the wire coming off 87 to the light green wire, which will now control your reverse light.

Now get the other relay and connect 86 to the constant 12volt and 30 to a good ground. At this time, connect 85 to the other wire that is coming off the dome light relay and 87 to the dark blue wire, which control the headlight. Right now your headlights and reverse light should turn on when your dome light comes on with the disarm. Don’t forget to test to see if the headlights and the reverse lights don’t turn on when the car is running when you turn on you dome light normally.
