Do the SIEMENS come with a diode built in? (polarity)

Virtualy the same as the BOSCH,just concerned with reliability, the shop that sells them claims that they are used same as the BOSCH,in stuff like alarms, etc.

I've used alot of different relays in the past ( Potter Brummfield, Bosch, Siemens, cheap no name generic brand ) and they all work the same. In the end I would rather pay 75 cents for a relay than $ 5.00 for a brand name one that does the same thing. I have not had a single one of those cheaper relays come back or fail in any of the installs that i've done.

To continue this a bit farther...does anyone have any part numbers for a particular brand's relays?  I get strange looks at the generic auto parts stores when I ask for a SPDT relay, and the electronics shops tend to have very expensive, large industrial stuff (too big for motorcycle apps), and/or they've only got 4PDT relays, high pull-in voltage ratings, etc...

Anyone have specifics?  (Cheaper and smaller, the better, of course...)

Thanks,

Chris

One member suggested going to an automtive wrecker for cheaper relays. He got quite a few for a couple of dollars and you would have your choice of size and amperage as well.

Ahh...thanks!

That makes sense...wide selection & cheap prices...can't beat that!

I like the Siemens relays.  I used a few cheap ones and they failed, I have never had a problem with these ones though.

Hey  Pickle,

Cheap relays can sometimes be good.  I say sometimes because I wouldn't trust a cheapie for ignition or starter kill but for trunk release I'd slap the sucker in inside of a wink. posted_image posted_image
