yes I would like to roll the windows either up or down, when I turn the key off; I think using this diagram I can accomplish that, but I'm not sure which wires go to what. It's for a '95 S10.

(-) Door Trigger wire needs to be connected to your door trigger wire, of course, which is purple for your 95 s10, and it is connected to your light switch harness, according to 1995-97 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup Alarm Information . The Fused 12V+ wire from the relay needs to be connected to any constant 12V source in your car, which is the red wire in you ignition switch harness. The accessory wire part of the relay needs to be connected to which ever wire turns on your window circuit, which I'm not sure what wire that is, but imagine you could use a multimeter to find out what wire shows 12v to your power window motor when u have the ignition on. I'm not real sure on that accessory wire thing so be careful. ------------- ~~~Travis H.~~~

Ok I did some testing, to see which wire controlled the windows up, and which controlled the windows down.. Here are the results: Drivers Side: - Passenger Side: 12V Constant = Orange - 12V Constant = Orange Ground = Black - Ground = White Up = Dark Blue - Up = Dark Blue Down = Brown - Down = Brown NOTE: Connect the relay to the drivers side switch to the driver’s side motor. The passenger side relay will go into the passenger side door, and can be controlled by either the driver and/or passenger. Now my question is can I hook up the Accessory wire to the up and down wires; or would they need to be on separate relays.

OK dont know what happened to the last post but I will post it again. Anyway I did some testing and I came across these results.. Okay the quest is now over, I have got the configuration working, and nothing breaking yet (I hope).. Anyway, I had misread your statement about the accessory wire travis2122; I had looked for 12V with the key on, and hitting the switch to roll the window either up or down. Well after wiring that way, it didn't work; so I looked at it, reread what you had said and realized the accessory wire isn't "hot" because you would have to push the switch, by then it was too late.. So I rechecked for the 12V, only this time I saw which wire was "hot" with the key turned on, but not when it was off. Anyway if anyone is interested in doing this again like I have done; you should install it the same way you would for the radio on until door opened (just like the picture above). Only the accessory wire should go the window switch wire that is hot only when the key is turned on. (I used a test light to see which one was hot).

cool that it works for ya then, I still can't figure out why when using that same setup, my accessory circuit doesn't retain power with the ignition off. however opening the door did shut the circuit off like it was supposed to. by the way, you may notice that with only two relays, your windows won't work with the door open and the ignition on, but i guess that doesn't really matter in your case since why would you want to roll your window down with the door open anyways. but anyhow, before i go out and spend another $8 on two more highly over priced relays from our local radioshack and attempt this project again(was delayed cuz i broke one of the pins off a relay), i need to know why the first attempt was not keeping power going when ignition was turned off.

Well first off I would like to say that the windows still work when you open the door and the ignition is on, just like it's supposed to be; and I believe the way I tried to wire it the first time, the "accessory" wire didn't see "hot", when the key was on; because I had wired them into the wires that showed "hot" when pressing the switch either up or down. That is how I got the two wires for both up, and down. Now I went back and looked for the "hot" when the key was turned on (using a test light), and wouldn't light up when the key was off. Once I knew what wire that was (for me it was a big white wire in the drivers door window switch), and I tapped into it, and it worked for both sides and everything. Anyway, you say that the power isn't retaining when you shut the ignition off; you might want to check two things. First check your stereo 12V, and accessory wire (sounds like it may have come loose), or theres a possibility that you wired it backwards (not saying that you did, but theres a possibility). I also have that working in my truck; and the only thing that I can notice about mine, are the relays "click" really loud when I open the door. What would cause that.

from other posts I've read, apparently the clicking sound is made from the arm swinging from 78a to 78 and so on. I'm guessing 12V going through that coil is enough to give it a strong enough field to really snap that swing arm to the other pin. Well anyhow, I guess I'll go buy a couple of new relays today and give it another shot(the first two broke, long story)

and by the way, thanks for making me take another look at how i wired them, I believe i just had my own little revelation and indeed I was wiring them wrong, THANK YOU! That certainly gets rid of a lot of frustration, i'll give it another shot today for sure now.
