I don't know if this is the right forum for my question but here it goes. I just bought a line lock for my truck today; and about to go ahead and hook everything up, but I noticed about halfway down it says "To be street legal, the rear brake lights must operate when the brake system is under pressure. Therefore, a pressure-operated switch must be installed if the Summit Brake Lock defeats the purpose/function of the stock rear brake light switch." The connections so far that have to be made are

Solenoid - Black(Ground)

Solenoid - Red(One side of the switch)

Lamp - Black(Ground)

Lamp - Red(Tie into the same side as the solenoid)

Switch - One side to 12V ignition

Switch - Out to the solenoid

I was just wondering if it doesn't do it automatically, could I just wire a wire to the brake switch just like the lamp, or will that cause any problems; if so could I use a relay, how would that work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

What is the line lock for? emergency brake or drag racing? I don't think you would need the light if you didn't use it  to stop the car.

I worked 4 summers in a city garbagetruck and they all had linelocks but no brake light tie in.

If you want to hook it up you would need a pressure switch in the brake line. I think 60s dodges used one to lite the lights.

Exactly my question.. what are you using the line lock for? "To be street legal, the rear brake lights must operate when the brake system is under pressure" is simply there so you cant get cruising along pressurize the line and lock it off causing someone to rear end you because of the lack of brake lights... but the brake lights still being functional when the police show up because of your locker. Unless you wanna waste your time hookin up a pressure switch to the line, screw it and forget it
