I'm having a little trouble with the trunk release setup for my Rattler 310D system. I currently have it set up on Channel #2. I don't like this because it does not respond until you hold the button on the remote for a few seconds. So I wanted to set it up on Channel #3, which is instantaneous. But just switching the wire from Channel#2 to Channel#3 into the relay did not work. Here is how the relay is currently set up:

86 & 30 fused together on a constant 12V+ feed.
87 out to trunk release wire.
85 out to Channel #2 (RED / WHITE) wire.
87a is not used.

Knowing this, how should I hook up the relay to switch and to the Channel #3 wire?

Thanks,
Randy

Check that H1/2 goes to ground when you press the channel 3 button on the remote. If not, you may need to reset the remote buttons using the auto learn feature.

Based on the manual, your assumption that switching 85 from H1/12 to H1/2 should have worked.
