Relay Remote Start

I want to wire a relay to the starter to remotely start the car. Is that possible. How do I go about wire the relay to start the car? Basically I want to design a basic remote start thats all.

I would like to design a simple remote start for the car. I wanted to use a simple rf transmiter and receiver and was hoping on one relay. Does anyone know how I can implement this. How to wire the relay? I would graetly appreciate the help thanks.

yes i seen that and thats a little much. I dont see a need for all those relays. You shouldn't need Accessory 1 and 2. So I was looking for a better way. You should only need one for the starter thats all I think. Maybe I'm wrong plus your going to need alot to drive those relays.

You need all the relays (you can disregard the relays for wires you don't have such as acc2,3 or for extra ignition wires)for all of the wires coming off of the ignition and to shut the relays down. At bare minimum you need all of the ignition wires and the starter wire. If you want ac to come on you need the accessories.

If you want a simple remote start then you should look around. I dont know of any remote starts that have only 1 relay. You can make a RS out of relays but it will take more than one.

you are wrong.  you think you only need one for the starter... so once you activate that relay... how do you plan to turn it off?  how do you think the cars computers will get power?  does the vehicle have an immobilizer?  if it does you best be set for a tow to the dealership.

there is a reson why even basic remote starts come with multiple relays... and most importantly, a brain to control them.

Im sure I wrong thats why I said i think. I know that I dont need all ten relays. Most remote starts come with about 4 relays. So does anyone know how to wire relays to start the car remotely using a rf transmiter and receiver?

this would be complicated to do as most remote starts receive an input from the tachometer telling it that the motor is on.  otherwise the starter will keep pushing the ignition after the engine has started.

Unless you are using a remote start unit, which controls the functions of the extra relays, then you DO need all the extra relays.
