I used this diagram and have it running through my accessory circuit.  Works great for my radio, but I didn't realize that my power windows won't work unless keys are in the "on" position.  Can I just use this same setup, but tap my "radio accessory wire" from the diagram into the "on" wire in my steering column?  I didn't know if that would be too much.  But I really want radio, windows and cig lighter to stay on untill the doors are open.  I guess my only other option is to tap into (and isolate) just the things I want on right?

Thanks

What kind of vehicle? You can use the same setup but tap the acc wire that controls the windows.

It's a 2000 Montero Sport.  I was trying to avoid having to isolate the windows if I can.  Will I have to use multiple relays to also get my radio and cig lighter to stay on if I do that?  If I tap into my ignition wire (I think that's the one that gets power when key is in "on" position)  is that too much of a load?

wait....I guess what you're talking about would power the whole circuit that the windows are on thus including the radio and cig lighter. Right?

Yeah, just power up the acc wire/wires directly at the ign harness.

OK,  I changed the connection from my radio acc wire to my ingnition 2 wire and now my windows work but not the radio.  Do I have to use 2 different setups (2 sets of 2 relays) to get this to work?  Could I split the "radio acc wire" coming off the relay and hook it up to my radio acc wire and my window wire at the fuse block?  In case you haven't figured it out already, I'm new at this, so please forgive my ignorance.

Also, since I changed connections my ABS light has come on a few times.  I think it happens after I shut off the car, roll up the windows then open the door (basically when I use the intended feature).  The next time I start the car, the ABS light comes on.  Doesn't seem to happen all the time.  If I shut off the car and restart it, the light goes away.  I don't know if it's coincidence or if it's a problem with tapping my ignition 2 wire.

TIA

Ty

Your radio should have two different power wires, one for constant power and one than gets power only when the key is in the "acc" position.  If you are just wanting the radio (and acc circuit) to stay on, simply tap into the wire that sees power in "acc" position.  Don't know what kind of car or radio you're using so I can't tell you what it looks like.  That won't get your windows to work with it though.  Thats what I'm trying to figure out, how to get both of them to work.

I want to do this with my car but only want my windows and radio to do this. Not any other accessories. How would I do this? Thank you.

I would think a few diodes might work. Instead of powering the whole Accessory Wire and everything attatched to it. Try this. Cut the supply to the radio and insert a diode so that it can't back feed the entire accessory circuit, do the same thing to the feed that powers the window circuits.

Then with the relay system that you already have setup (top of this post) connect the power output to the windows and radio side of both diodes so that current doesn't flow to the other accessories.

I don't use diodes everyday so tell me guys if you think this would work.
