In my last car i did the radio on until door opened configuration but now i want to do something a little different with multiple operations. I have a two din spot in my truck, 1 din being used up by an aftermarket radio. I want to make a fake plate that looks exactly like the stcok radio that will cover the radio for security and just for experimental/learning purposes. Here's the complicated part, a motor with gears will push the fake cover out from above the hu and then it will flip down at a joint. i want this to be triggered by the door opening (door trigger wire) with the ignition in the off position. then when the ignition/accesory wire gets power i want the motor electricity (neg and pos) to be reveresed so it will pull the bezel back to the original spot. i am going to have to incoorporate a time switch or something also so any help or ideas about that would be great. but basically the question is how can i wire this up? how many relays? what types (single throw, double throw, etc)? this seems pretty complicated but i think it can be done, thanks in advance to whoever tries to help me out, it's appreicated.

haha well you are persistant...

Its really hard to tell what you will need to do, make a table to tell exactly what you want to do...

ie:

door opens -> motor energizes -> turns off when panel has reached maximum

the biggest problem may be when to kill power to the motor, or whatever you are using to move it..
