Hi,

I have a viper alarm/starter that I would like to put on my 24V Toyota Lancruiser. I have purchased a 20 amp 24v-->12v converter for the main power into the box.

My question is can I use a 12V relay with a 12V trigger to get a switched 24V output?

86 12V trigger
30 24V input
87 24V output
85 ground

I would assume it is just the coil that needs to see 12V and the contacts should be able to handle 24V??

I also need to switch the 24V glow plug light to 12V. Can I do this using a 24V relay and wire accordingly as above?

thanks

Brad

it will work as long as the relay you use is rated to handle the voltage. most handle 30vdc or more so you should be ok.

-------------
if its jammed force it - if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway
