ok i purchased a set of H4 bulb aftermarket HIDs (high intensity discharge lights) but they only work with my low beans, when i turn on my high beams they shut off. what i want to do is wire up a relay so that when i turn on my high or low beams my HIDs work.

can you help me wire up a relay so i get pawer to the HIDs all the time no matter what beam is running.

if you know what wire is for your high beams and low beams then you'll need just one relay to pull it off.  I would recommend breaking the Low beam wire using the relay in order to prevent feedback on the low beams when you turn on the high beams.

Connect 87a to your low beam wire

Connect 87 to 12V (or your high beam power wire, so long as it can support the current demand)

Connect 86 to your high beam wire +

Connect 85 to ground

Connect 30 to your HID power wire

The aftermarket hid only has low beam whereas H4 has dual filament for hi and low beam.  Would it not be pointless to switch to highbeam with the hid since it doesnt have high beam?
