I've just installed a NX nitrous system on my car and can't seem to get it to activate and I think the relay might be bad.
When the system is armed and the Wide Opened Throttle switch and the fuel pressure safety switch are activated it sends power to the relay but I get nothing out of it.
Wired as:
+12v to relay
WOT swith to one relay terminal
FPSS to another relay terminal
Output from relay to solenoids.
on the relay the terminals are numbered 85,86,87,87a,30 what are these wires going to and what does your nos need to see to trigger 12v, or gorund? with that information i will be able to help you.

does terminal 85 send power when activated as well as 86 send ground or vice versa? my question to you is that you might have two cicuits sending the same signal both ground or both power. if this is the case you will probally need 2 relays. on the flip side if one is power and one is ground this will energize the coil (85,86) then you will want to check to see if your getting 12vollts into terminal 30, then when activated is 87 getting 12 volts (use a meter). you should also be able to hear the relay clicking when its energized if its in the car if its under the hood it you wont hear it. it sounds as though your power supply isnt getting 12 volts though. let me know what you find .

From what I was thinking both 85 & 86 would send +12 when good and nothing otherwise.
I'm think that the FPSS is out of adj and is sending +12v when the fuel pressure is too low.
Am I right in thinking that 85 should be + and 86 should be - to fire relay?
yes it should be , it could even be the other way around. see if you can grab a meter or a test light to see what they are doing this will make you trouble shooting eaiser for you,

In order for a relay to work:
You must have 12 volts constant or a momentary trigger (12 volts) on pin 85 and a ground signal on pin 86 to enegize the coil, which intern moves the switch.
You can Not have to like polarity's on these pins.
Use a multimeter or test light and figure out which wires are 12v and ground.
