Ok now im downright confused. I want to hook up a fan for an amp rack. I read the relay information here, but im no Edison, so I went to BCAE and read what he had there. It looked like someone could just use a distribution block to hook up the fan. Is this so? My amp only draws a small amount of current and I have 4guage power wiring, so if I could use my power wiring for that, it would be great. Im interested in the relay information but it makes my head spin.

Ok, so now the REAL question is, in order to do the bosch relay, which seems to be the accepted usual relay, I need to run a new wire from the battery? It is kinda makin sense, and if this is true, then it REALLY makes sense.

See the relay page Connecting Additional Devices To The Remote Wire. Wire your relay like what is shown in the diagram, and run the 12 volt source wire to the constant at the steering column. ------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Ok! I just realized the best thing i (hope) I can do. Can I use a distribution block from my amp power wire to run to a relay? It is a 4guage and my amp has only 10 amps of current draw, so there is lots of room for manouvring there. I would loooove to just be able to do that. I hate running long wires. It is the bane of my existence. (Sorry for all the posts in the car audio section. I am a moron.)
