What is the DEI 451M for? when do I use it? I bought one because I thought that you use it inplace of the relays you normally use to operate the door locks? if this is true how do I use it with my Clifford G4 IG7000 installed on a 1984 Monte Carlo SS?

wow, you got lots o' questions.
the 451m is 2 relays in one. it saves you time but beware.
in your monte carlo your gonna have a "5 wire" door lock system, that means that all five of the "thick" wires are gonna be used. the small wires with the red in the middle are the triggers, blue and green are the(-) that the alarm or car starter lock outputs will be attached to, the small red is connected to the thick purple with the fuse on it, then that purple gets connected to 12 volts. now the brown and the white are on one side of the door lock(motor)side of the switch and the green and blue(thick)go to the switch side. you will find that now you have 12 volts on the green and blue (thick) when you lock and un-lock the doors right? find the lock wires and cut them,if your switch on the door stops working after you cut it then you have the right wire. take a fure holder with a 10amp fuse in it and strike the car side of the wire if it triggers hook the right wire itno it, give it a try, the wort thing is you'll blow a fuse......or 20

451m is a best buy only product. to use the purple fused wire goes to constant, blue and green aare lock and unlock. The other two are not used for your application. If you do ground the other two wires the output polarity of the blue and green wires get reversed. LOOK AT THE BACK OF THE 451M FOR THE DIRECTIONS.
