I have a momentary switch that activates the starter solenoid in my car through a std 30amp relay.

Is is possible to modify this so the starter button is rendered inoperative once the car has been started. It would be necessary to switch the ignition off and back on again and then press the button again to reactivate the starter. This is how the old mechanical switch operated so you could not activate the starter while the car was running.
Thanks if you can help.

If we can find a voltage that is only present when the Car is running we can Add the final Component to our little Puzzel.

What kind of voltage Regulator?

Built in or external? if it is External we can tap in there and add the relay.

How did they do it on the original wiring.

We could also just put a timer in there that will disable the switch after a certain time passes, say 30 seconds or 1 min.
