I have a 1988 chevy camaro iroc-Z28 with an alpine #8126 alarm it has a remote with keyless entry and trunk release. i had to replace the alternator and disconnected the battery for about one hour. when i put everything back together and reset the alarm. the keyless doors would only lock and not unlock i have checked all the fuses that i know of. i have heard it might be the relays but i have no idea of what they look like or where to look for them.

disconnect ground of battery for a few minutes and when you reconnect it the alarm should go off to shut it offpress the unlock of the key remote not the lock . the alarm probably got a shock ., you can replace relays in alarm mods if they are built in and since like along time ago they have been so you may need a new brain if somethign did happen.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
