I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer 4x4. I dont drive the vehicle often and was trying to get the windshield washer to switch on. I pulled the turn signal stalk towards me, accidentally switching the high-beam lights on. I switched them off, but ever since, the turn signal relay keeps clicking intermittantly.

The turn signals work fine, as do the headlamps and highbeam lights. Everything still functions perfectly, except for the annoying clicking of the relay coming back every 15 seconds or so. It'll stay on for a while and then shut off.

Could it be a bad relay or is it the switch that is the problem?

Thanks

Check the "flasher" as well....it might not be a relay problem..!

When I said relay I actually meant the flasher unit. I think I will try a new flasher, now it started rapidly clicking on and off, not just the regular on/off pattern like it used to.

A co-worker said that it may be the switch in the steering column, he had a similar problem with his Cavalier where the turn signal wouldn't work, eventually his headlights went out too until he changed the switch.

I had the same problem with my 98 Blazer also, after changing the Flasher relay I still had the same problem, I noticed GM had recalls on this problem for the 99 models and up, But it seems to be a problem with the MF switch (Multi-Function) located it the steering colum, You should however have a good shop fix this matter, Only because of the Air bag deployment only because it could inadvertantly go off if you not sure what your doing..

as long as you take out the fuse for your airbag system first, you can probably replace it yourself :D
