I consider myself an ammatuer installer. I think I bit off a little more than I can chew with this one. The job is putting in rs/alarm in 95 firebird. I thought I was finished. The next day the owner of the car calls me back saying that headlights are a mess.
When ever the parking lights come on, the headlight motors attempt to raise. It seems like the wires are crossed from parking lights to the motors. the other problem is that when the driver side motor comes down it makes an awfull grinding noise for about 8 sec. For some reason when the driver side is disconnected the remaing headlight operates perfectly.
My thought was that there was relays that I probably messed up in the install process. I can't seem to find any doc. of relays for those motors.
summary
Parking lights come on (whether it is by the alarm flashing or the switch in the car) headlight motors engage raising the headlight doors.
When the lights are shut off and the dors come down the driver side motor doesn't shut off right away. causing a grinding noise.
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you use the YELLOW or BROWN wire for the parking lights ? You should have used the BROWN wire and make sure that there is no residual current in this wire that could be affecting the headlights. Check to see tht the BRWON wire was used first and post your results.

Your headlight rasing white plastic gear is probaly worn out. You can take it off and turn it 180 degrees and use the good side of the gear's teeth.
