Hi, I am in the process of installing a commando remote starter in my 1999 Chrysler Town and Country AWD. I have all the diagrams and the relays for the keyless entry, but I still do not understand how to do this part. I understand I am supposed to use resistors . I do not know where, or how to apply them. Can anyone help? Another chick on the forum

on your plug coming from the alarm for the DL/UL, on the Lock wire, using series a 1.5k ohm resistor.. and on the Unlock wire, series a 250 ohm resistor.. and just run both of the wires to the WHITE/ green wire in the T&C.. If your alarm has a + and - output for doorlocks, (- one way and reverse for +) you will need to put diodes on the wires.. put the band in series toward the alarm brain..

There's also another method if you don't want to play with resistors. On the front of the BCM, above the driver's left foot, are three relays. You can feel them click when you operate the door locks. One relay locks all doors, another unlocks the driver's door, and the last one unlocks the other doors. The relay will just pull out, and the terminals are numbered---terminal 85 is just a plain negative trigger. You can take the wire coming from your keyless. poke it through the little hole on the 85 terminal, wrap it around, and reinstall the relay. If your keyless entry unit has two separate "driver's priority" unlock wires, then just hook each to the appropriate relay, and you're all set. If you only have one unlock wire, split it with two diodes, then put each of those to each of the unlock relays. NOTE: Some Town and Countries have a factory alarm---and tapping directly into the relays will not arm or disarm the alarm.

Snoman, soldering takes very little if any extra time if you are good at it. It will save you nothing but time and money in the future. No more come backs for a bad crimp or burnt connector. Not to mention the fact that solder is a lot cheaper then connectors. I still use the odd connector but probably less the 1 in 100.

I am not going to start a war over what connectors are better.. while I do agree solder is the best, it is not very time effient..down in south Louisiana, 3M tape in the dash is not an option in my shop.. if you solder, it's going to be covered with heat shrink, which is done in my shop if you solder.. 180 degrees does wonders to tape down here.. (not not 180 air temp, but in the car) You you have to go back into the alarm, radio, ect, no matter if your adding a feature or repairing, you will come out with black stick hands.. I like to stay a little clean..

also on those caravans you can elimate the drivers door priority from the factory by putting a 30 amp fuse in the bottom left relay location it jumps terminals 87a an 30 together and yes the 87a is lined up so you can put in a fuse. on base models without keyless chrysler put a fuse in instead of a relay saved them a whole $1 on every unit.
