Subject: Relay and latched aux channel?

Hi,

I am a complete novice so please bare with me.

I have a Clifford alarm with a negative output latched aux channel.

I need to turn on some neons.

Should I use a SPDT or SPCO relay? Or are they both the same thing?posted_image

The neons will be supplied with ground from a connection bolted to the chasis.

How do I wire up a relay to supply +12volts activated by the latched negative aux channel from my alarm? Also do I need to use any diodes?

Any help much appreciated thanks.

M

Wire the SPDT relay like this: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/N2P.jpg

No diodes are required.

Hi,

Thanks Jeff posted_image , that diagram sorted my mini install.

Also does it matter if pin 86 is the negative input and 85 the fused 12v constant?

Thanks Mo.
