Hi there. This will be my first post on this forum so try not to laugh too hard if my question is very basic.  I'm sure I'll catch on pretty quick.

I am looking to put a motorized amp rack in my car. I'm using an alarm trigger to operate the actuator.  By looking through this web site I have found that my two best options would be either the Latched On/Off Output Using a Single Momentary Pulse or a Momentary to constant type.  The Constant type seems pretty straight forward. But I dont totally understand the Latched type. I dont know where the input for the circut should be (I have seen the diagram there is no mention of the input pulse). There is the drawing of the switch but Im not sure if it is a switch! Also would this latched circut be just for the "up" motion? Which would mean I would need a second latch circut for the "down" motion?

My amp rack will use limit switches to stop the racks motion. And from what I can understand, the latched system gives you the control of not necessarilly needing the limit switch because you can stop it with another touch of your remote button.

Am I on the right track????

any tips of suggestions?

yes you will only be able to go one way because you need to revese polarity to get it to retract. do you need to use the alarm or just want to? i would use a relay setup as done in a power window curcuit. maybe someone else out here has a better idea but if you need to know how to use my idea i will send you a schematic. lol
