I have a Huey cyclic controller from a UH-1 helicopter with several normally open momentary switches. I want to use this as my gear shifter on a Jeep I am building and use the switches for various applications; I know that I need to use relays but I am having difficulty determining how the circuits should be done.

one of the switches to switch from hi to lo beam on the headlights (click once to hi, click again to low);

another switch to run the wind shield wash pump as long as the switch is held (this part I can easily do with relay), but at the same time turn on the wipers for 3-4 cycles of wiper action no matter how long the switch is held.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

hi,

for the headlight dimmer, you'd need a latching relay.  do a search on here for them.  VW has used them for years, well years ago.  the switch would be wired to give a ground pulse to the relay.

for the wipers, you could use a pulse timer (DEI 528T)?...measure the time it takes to make 3 or 4 wipes and adjust timer to that period,  have the pulse timer operate the wiper motor.   the same lead that triggers the timer would also operate the washer pump motor.

hope this helps

mark
