okay, I have a pair of 100W foglights running of the battery to switch to 20amp fuse to lights. My headlights dim when I use these and I heard that using a relay can help. Can anyone give me a diagram to use a relay in this setup?

thanks

Yes a relay can help.
You need to look at where you are getting the power for your fog lights.

Here is a quick diagram

Fog lights---------Relay---------fuse-----battery
|               | |                         |
GND              | Gnd                      Gnd
              switch
                   |
                 12v

Make sure you run the relay with a switched source of power or you could leave the lights on after you turn off the key. Some places to get this would be radio power, or cig lighter etc, just make sure the lighter is switched off when you take the keys out, some trucks and others don't do this.

And since the diagram was blurry on this, you use the switch to energize the coil of the relay, this will turn on the fog lights.

the diagram dident hold up well so in simple, use a switch to energize the relay and the relay will run the fog lights... hate it when things dont work.

thanks, I've got a set of relays from Auto Zone. I've got other lights I need to do this to as well.
