I have a 1999 Ford E 250 with a J-635 Alarm installed. I want to add a J-Start 3 remote start to the alarm.

I am not an alarm installer and did not install this alarm. Much of the instructions presume experience and knowldedge I may not aquire.

I do think I have connected the J-Start large wiring correctly. Where I am having trouble is getting the alarm to trigger the J-Start.
From the J-635 (existing Alarm) manual:
⇒ Gray Wire: Trunk release (Auxiliary channel 3) output. This wire supplies a 250 mA negative (-) output when the ‘TRUNK (3)’ button is pressed and held for 1.5 seconds. This output can be used to operate trunk release motors, remote starter units, etc. **Note** In most cases a relay must be used with this output. See diagram for relay hookup.

From the J-Start 3 (Add on Remote Start) manual:
Gray Wire: Auxillary negative output. Use this wire to control any extra relays needed to properly start the vehicle.

Orange Wire: Negative trigger input. Connect this wire to the output of the alarm or keyless entry unit that will be controlling the J-Str/3 unit. This wire is not needed when installing the J-Str/3-T unit. (the 3-T is an alarm and remote start in one unit..Not what I have.)

I have tried using the Gray wire (250mA negative putput) from the Alarm (J-635) connected to the Orange (Negative trigger input) wire of the Remote Start. Nothing happens.
I have a Bosch relay from a Ford I can use (See Diagram). How should I wire this to use the Auziliary Channel 3 output to work the Remote Start?

No Edit function at this site and I butcher the Topic title.

No chip in the key. None of the E Series Vans have transponder systems.
