Is it possible to use a relay in the wiring of a dome light to have the dome light turn on when the doors open and be controlled by a seperate switch, that i have in a switch in my center console.

How would i wire this up?

IAre you wanting to turn off the light when the door is opened?  If so all you need to do is to get a relay.  Ground pin 86.  Run 12 volts to your switch and then back to the relay to pin 85.  Then find the dome light trigger wire in the car and cut it .  Put one end on pin 87a and the other end on pin 30.  When the doors open the light will turn on just as before but if you want it off all you have to do is flip your switch.  Go on this sites home page and look in the right hand corner.  There is the word search.  Click on that and enter the type vehicle you have and it will tell you where the wire is located and the color of it.  Let us know if this works.  Brian

In that case you need to find out if your domelight is (-) or (+).  Then you Put the coresponding wire (+ or -) on pin 87.  Then pin 30 will go straight to the wire in the vehicle(dome light wire).  Good luck   Brian
