i whould like to have my radio stay on till i open my door.i once found a post on that topec can't find it now.could someone tell me where that post is or how to do it.

thank i look at that and here is the question why wouldn't the radio go back on when is close the door and the relay is complete again.

It is a latching relay-

When the relay coil gets power it switches and when it switches it sends 12 volts into the coil which keeps the coil powered until you break the wire which is what the door trigger does.  It breaks the connection and it cant get power again until the car is started. it is hard to explain in words but when I get a chance i could draw a picture.

I don't understand what you are saying. Why wouldn’t the radio go back on?
also do I cut the wire that is going in to the radio from the car or do i just tap in the wire from the relay.
