ok, This is kind of a stupid question ,but im not understanding.  When using a spdt relay to switch ONE accesiory such as a light or fuel pump or what not.  you run the power to the coil and the ground to the other side of it .  Then the accesory to the n/o if its normally on right?  What do u run to the normally closed and common terminals?  Sorry for such a basic question .

Terminal # 85 goes to ground and #86 to a switched source of 12 volt+. You can also use a switched source of ground to activate the relay and connect terminal # 86 to a constant 12 volt+ source. Terminal # 30 goes to a fused source of 12 volts + and terminal # 87 to the accessory you wish to power. Terminal #87a is not used to simply turn on/off a device.

ok, so does this sound right?

85 ground

86 switched 12v

30 to  a constant fused 12v??

87 to accesory?

87a not used?
