hi,
I've got a 12V motor connect to a DPDT Switch Centre Off Spring Return Both Sides as shown on below.

So, when i press and hold the upper button, it will turn clockwise. press the lower side button, motor will turn anti-clockwise
Now, i want to use trunk release function on my car alarm to control that motor(a red w/balck stripe cable on my alarm which is for trunk release).
i want to do is when i press the trunk release button(without holding it) on the alarm remote, the motor start to turn clockwise (or anti clockwise, doesnt matter) for about 8-9 seconds(cant be more then 9.5 seconds) and then stop.
any chance to do it with a relay? how can i connect it to the setup in the picture above? any other thing (eg capacitor, resistor etc) i need to connect between them in case to make that work??
Thank you very much for help~~~
Hmmm, Im not really sure. But I think the word you are looking for is counter clockwise. Sounds to me like you would need to use 2 different outputs from your alarm to be able to have the motor spin both ways (a channel for each direction). As far as the timing, I think it would involve more than just relays since relays dont have a timing ability.
You need something like the TR-7 from www.pac-audio.com.
This has the abillity to do what you describe using only one channel from your alarm.
