i have now connected 2 batteries with a relay between them, and a capacitor after the 2nd battery.

the 2nd battery negative and the capacitor negative and the relay 30 are supposed to connect to Ground.

So should i connect them to the car chassis? or to the primary battery negative(if that`s ok to do that?)? what`s the different between them?

My Suburban has both battery negatives connected to the chassis, and each others negative post.

chassis! when your engine is running the alternator is the source of power for your vehicle. its case is tied to the chassis of the vehicle, making the chassis your ground plane. the battery serves as a noise filter for the alternator when the engine is running.
read the ground sticky for finding a good chassis ground.

Why is there a relay between your batteries? I am confused on your set up The batteries postives should share a connection VIA jumper wire or bus bar and the same with the grounds but why a relay between them? and mabye a stupid question but did make sure that you are using 2 new batteries and of the smae make and size?

Just wondering what kind of relay are you using? what type and size(rated current handling)?
