hi I was wondering if yall had any idea how to use a couple relays to make a remote turn on circut.  I have and alarm that has a trunk realese and my trunks not electric so its not doing anything and i was wondering if i could use that circut from the remote to turn on and off my fog lights.  My alarm puleses a 12+ for about 2 seconds to open the trunk. could i hook this up to a relay to turn on a 12v circut when pulsed and turn it back off when pulsed again. Any help would be great. Thanks

Andy

It can be used to turn them on but without another channel it cannot be used to turn them off.  If this is acceptable let me know and I will post how to do this.

You don't need another channel. The same channel can be used to latch a relay on and off.

Karl does the method you speak of to turn on and off a latching relay involve two relay to split the alarms ouput and one relay to latch?   I am just thinking how to do this.

I was actually challenged by another installer way back in the days. He insisted that there was no way to take some bosch relays and have an alarm with only one channel latch them on and off. He said i needed two channels, one to latch and the other make them unlatch. Till this day, installers still think its impossible with one channel.

my trunk button could be programmed as a pulse, or constant output if the button is held in. I wanted to do the same thing with my truck, i wired up my KC lights up to the trunk button on my remote. Now instead of "path" illumination when i walk up to it, I can light up the entire street with a push of a button on my remote....

i changed my trunk output to a constant when held in, and wired a relay with negative input to positive output..

I have a 5th channel output and now want to put someone else on my truck that i can remotely turn on with a relay...this site is addictive...haha..thanks to all for all the info everyone

Cool diagram .. i thought that there is no way to do it with only one channel . You poved me wrong ....

Is there any way in which you can modify this circuit to get driver door priority even if you don't have the feature in your alarm .?
