Hi there,
When I install an amplifier in my car I blown my fuse (7.5A). The wiring that I have done is to connect the remote turn on lead from my head unit to the one in ampifier and also connect it with the 12+ and ground cable. The fuse I blown is shared between the head unit, the antenna and now the amplifier.
Is it a power drain when I add it with the new amplifier that cause the blown fuse? Can a 30A relay help me on this?
Thanks
Charles
You should have a remote turn on from your head unit to the remote input on your amplifier. Then the power for your amp should be ran up to the battery with the appropriate gauge wire. The ground wire should be the same as your power cable and as short as possible and a clean solid connection to ground. Is this a new amp? Make sure that your head unit has a remote turn on, if not you can use your ignition wire to turn on the amplifier.
