Hello...

for any of you that may either have an alarm / remote start setup that doesn't have a parking light flash output or has had that output blown / damaged for some reason... here's another way to do it.

dual spdt PC board relays... radio shack part number 275-248A... coil resistance = 400 ohms.... coil current = 34 milliamps... max current through switched output = 10 amps at 24 volts.

NOTE -- normal 30 amp spdt relays wont work... the coil resistance is too low (anything under 300 ohms will result in the relay needing too much current from teh siren output to "turn on"... thus slowing /delaying reaction/switching time and screwing the whole damn thing up - believe me, i tried it.... and this is the best / only way i could get to work...)

Relay 1

-----------

Common terminal = 12v+ constant (if your p-lights require 12v+ to turn on... use ground if they require ground to turn on)

Normally ON = no connection

Normally OFF = output to parkling light wire

Coil pin 1 = siren positive voltage output (teh wire runnin to the siren ... tap into it, and splice to coil pin 1)

Coil pin 2 = ground

Relay # 2

-------------

Common = tie into common of relay number 1

Normally ON = no connection

Normally OFF = tie into normally off of relay number 1

coil pin 1 = ignition switched / hot through and after crank

coil pin 2 = starter kill output of alarm (or the negative IGN output)

This will result in the following --- the parking lights will flash once for each "chirp" of the siren... the parking lights will flash or run steady when the siren is "blaring"... the parking lights will be on steady when the vehicle has been remote started.... other than that.. the p-lights work as normal.. when you have the car running with teh key, they are off as they should be.  this basically PERFECTLY mimmicks the parking light function of a good alarm / remmy start system.
