I have installed a generic remote door lock system and have used two relays wired as below. The instructions were nearly non-existant with the kit. It did have a print out of a relay schematic, therefore I used them. But after I had two actuators fail, I got to wondering. Of course when you buy ebay merchandise you never get any return emails after the sale. But what I have come to learn is that this system has "relays" within the control box and I dont need externals. Regardless here is my issue. These external relays appear to be getting warm. Is this normal? I thought they were suppose to be "at rest" normally. If they are not what ma are they drawing? It seems after a week of not using my car (Miata = small battery) The starter barely turns. Any comments or ideas? Thanks.

doooonooooot use 87a as a ground !!!!!! 87&85 12v.con. 86 on one relay lock 86on the 2nd. relay gets unlock 30's go to the actuators

if you don't hook up 87a to ground, you will not have a complete circuit when the relays are energized. I do not see the problem with his diagram. Relays shouldn't get warm when they are at rest, when they are energized a standard bosch SPDT relay will draw ~150mA.
