Hello all,
I need your advise and help (I am a novice with relay's so please keep that in mind oh and I have searched the forums and have found nothing about parrot Bluetooth kits).
I have just purchased a Parrot 3200 LS Color Bluetooth Kit for my car and have recently installed an Alpine CDE-9852 Stereo Head Unit. Now the problem is that the damn Alpine doesn't have a mute input and i have the rear speakers and sub woofer in the car going through and AMP that is switched on/off via a remote switch wire from the headunit.
The issue here is that when the bluetooth kit is active it cuts the Stereo feed to the speakers and redirects the incoming audio from the connected phone to the car stereo speaker - all good... BUT the AMP gets it sound from the pre-amp output not the speaker outputs on the HU, so i need to put (I think) a relay between the remote switch wire that gets trigged by the Bluetooth kit mute function to cut power to the AMP and in effect mute the AMP output.
Hope this makes sense to you wizards.
Can some one please provide a diagram of the relay circut and any other information i should be aware of. Also is there a specific relay i should be using (Am in Australia and we have Dick Smith Electronics and Tandy (Australian Radio Shack) as well as other Electronics retailers - so i should be able to get whatever suggested relay i need.

What type of output signal does the kit supply? Negative or Positive? If negative, connect an SPDT relay as follows: 85 to Parrot negative output
86 to 12V+
30 to remote turn on lead to amp
87a to remote turn on lead from head unit If it is a positive output, connect as follows: 85 to Parrot positive output
86 to ground
30 to remote turn on lead to amp

85 to Parrot negative output (Yellow wire, mute #2) 86 to 12V+ 30 to remote turn on lead to amp 87a to remote turn on lead from head unit ------------- the12volt • Support the12volt.com

Hi there all - i have connected my relay as per details here, however when i use the Parrot, the sub is still powered up... HELP Please

I am having this same exact problem now, but I have the 3100 and only 2 subs running on the amp. The relay I tried didn't work (12v SPDT relay). I used a voltmeter to figure out that the mute wire outputs a signal of 2.7 volts, but I am not sure if it is positive or negative (the wires are connected to the back of the stereo and I don't feel like taking it out). Can anyone tell me if 2.7 volts should be enough to energize the coil and activate the relay? Maybe we need a different relay. Recommendations?

just figured it out. It must be a negative output because I have it set up like this
30 87a- Hooked up to remote wire
85 & 86- 12v (+) and mute wire (i have it hooked up to ACC, but it doesn't matter b/c its not like you can listen to the stereo when the car is off anyway. Any 12v source should do).
