Hi Guys,

I have followed the instructions on the website in regards to a momentary to constant relay.  Works great, however I am using it for an RFID door access kit which only gives off a 1 sec pulse to open an electric strike, I need it longer than that so this relay setup works great for that.  The problem I have is I need the constant 12v to be turned off once the door has been opened.  The strike has a monitoring microswitch in it, so I have earthed that so once the door is open the microswitch engages and earth flows through to the 12v constant output and thus shorts it out and everything works fine.

I'm not really sure if this is ok to do, I mean it works fine however is there a better way to do it ?

Any comments appreciated.

Cheers

Shorting out everything is not a great Idea. You could use a relay to switch off the circuit when the door is opened.
