Hello, I have been searching through the forums, but could not find the situation that I am trying to achieve...

I have 2 batteries running all of my components in an RV (1800 watts max) and I want to be able to switch to a generator when the batteries get low.

Is there a relay that will switch from the battery 12v source to the generator 12v source? (not sure if possible, but sounds good)

I'm thinking there will be a voltage drop for a brief moment, but will a capacitor help sustain when switched?

The relay will need to be rated for 150 amps.

What generator do you have? Some generators and most newer generators now have sensors that will automatically kick on when voltages drop to a certain point. I would go to an RV specialty store and see what they have there. I'm sure that a product like that will show up in most of those stores.
