I have replaced the dash in my 87 Dakota with a new modern dash out of a recent Ford.

I need to connect up the lights but the switch on the new dash  is just a selector switch (just a small circuite board) and burns out with 12V. I was told I need to use some relays and use the neg to activate the Relays!!

Sounds similar to the momentary activation section but how do I get power to the switch without burning it out??

Also do I need a seperate relay for the Park,Head lights and the dimmer??

Has some one got a diagram to help??

Thanks

Well, you if the switch is a simple input/output switch then you can use relays for the parking lights and headlights. The dimmer on the other hand won't work, the dimmer is more of a variable resistor and probably won't work.

If you can put a negative input to a negative output then use the relay diagram, the converting polarity negative to a positive and you should be set.
