I am working on a project that involves actuating a door that is first popped open by solenoid. I can't seem to figure out how to get relays configured so that the same alarm channel that pops the door can be used to actuate that door up and then back down. I want it to go something like this:
Button pressed > door pops > Door trigger (-) dissables solenoid and makes actuator active > Same button pressed > actuator extends > actuator's built in limit switches cause relay(s) to reverse polarity > actuator retracts > Done.

I hope that makes sense. I've got it figured out up to the actuators but I cant figure out how to get the limit switches in the actuators to activate relays that will reverse the polarity. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks.

DPDT relay perhaps? Anyone? Stumped?

Does the Remote have a latch unlatch function?

Those diagrams appear to be controlling the actuator with 2 outputs. I only want 1 output to control the actuator. For example if that 1 output were to be held (latched) then the actuator should cycle extended until it hits the limit then come back to contracted and repeat. So if you held the button down it would just keep extending and retracting. Any other ideas?

Do you have built in limit switches or will you be using micro switches?

Okay, I worked on this one for hours. (I did not bench test it )

When power is applied to the control wire the Actuator will move.

When it hits the top micro-switch it latches the third relay.

This will make the actuator move the other direction until it hits the bottom micro-switch.

This will unlatch the relay and it will change directions until it hits the top micro-switch again.

Then it will start all over.

If at any time you you stop the control voltage the actuator will stop in its tracks until voltage is applied again.

So John, what this basically is doing is moving the actuator back and forth as long as power is applied to the 87 pin of that 3rd relay, right?

Would be kinda amusing if one forgot to release voltage - it'd look like your actuator was going haywire. LOL

yep the third relay latches until one of the switches drop power
