hey everyone i need a little help. my car was boken into and i want to try and prevent that from happening again. i have a 2000 honda civic. heres what i want to do. Add a siren and wire it up to the door trigger so that when the door is open the siren goes off but i want to tie it into the keyless entry so that it only sounds the siren when the doors are locked. im pretty sure i will need a relay im just not sure how to tie into the locks with this setup.

thanks any help will be appreciated

The only way I know of that you can do this will require you removing a door panel and mounting a lever switch that will activate when the door is in the locked position.  If you are able to do this let me know I will get you a radio shack part number and give you some wiring instructions.  I am not at all familiar with the door lock mechanism in your car.  You will have to be creative in the mounting of the switch.  I seldomly check this forum, you may have to PM me to let me know you have got this.

Ok, maybe I am missing something but wouldn't the easy solution be just adding an alarm? Also if you want more sirens then I would recommend getting a peizo siren(or two) and sticking them inside your vents so then if anyone is stupid enough to break in again they will not be able to last very long inside your car. Lastly if you get a two-way alarm then you will be alerted when it goes off and if you go with the peizo sirens then you should be covered.

Like I said maybe I missed something but an alarm sounds luke the way to go, and if it is a money thing then you can still pick up a basic alarm for under $100 pluse the extra sirens and you will still be pretty safe.

if it has start and keyless the units hould have a ground when locked wire or ground when armed. you will need 2 relay and siren.

from alarm (-) when locked to wired up relay for (-) to 12volts.
12volt from wired relay to second relay terminal 85
ground from door pin to terminal 86
constant 12volts to Pin 87
connect postive siren wire to terminal 30.

when wired like so, the siren will only sounmd when the car is locked and the door is open, if u open then close the door, the siren is off (downside) if you use latching relay, the siren will stay on untill u remove power from latching relay. I suggest u jsut get a basic alarm for 50 or so then incorporate that with the start unit.
