i finally did it!!! i created a diagram for adding drl's to your vehicle. this saves me $24 a year on insurance and can save you money too!!! i can and will make more diagrams if you need them (specific for your vehicle or accessorizing options)!!!

the 1st one is utilizing an emergency brake shutdown, just like the gm cars do.

When I expand the dwgs they get to fuzzy to read.

It's really easy it depends on how you want it though
1st method
85 to handbrake
86 to fused ign
87a ground
30 to 85 of second relay
86 to fused ign
87 to fused 12v
30 to positive parking lights

87 of the second relay will vary based upon what the polarity of your lights are

The second and easiest way is
85 to ground
86 to fused ign
87 to fused 12 volt
30 to parking lights

Once again 87 will depend upon the polarity of your parking lights

So you are running the headlights at 100% power at most times?

It would be nice if you could enlarge the diagrams a bit, I could make most of the stuff out, but some of it is just unreadable.

Other then that, congratulations on finishing your project!

Here is my solution to Daytime Running Lights on my car. This only uses 2 relays.

Day mode: RLY A will energize while car is running. DRL will receive current in day

Night mode: RLY B will energize from lo-beam. This will de-energize RLYA causing DRL to go off at night.

The trick is to find HOT IN RUN fuse! This circuit is compatable with auto-on headlamps.

Hey normandandmyr, I've got a 2002 Acura TL Type S w/ factory HID (lows) and 9005 for the highs. I'd like to use the 9005s as DRL and then shut off when I turn on the lows. Also would like another option of having the DRL off completely...(if that makes any sense)...

Also have a 98 Accord w/ TYC projectors (lows are HID H1s and highs are...wow, can't remember at this moment. The Accord I'd like have DRLs constant on as you have set up...

And lastly, how much does this setup drop the output to on, let's say a 55W bulb?
