could some1 please tell me how 2 make a timed relay 2 do the following,

when i press a button i need a relay 2 energise a solenoid 4 5 seconds then deactivate it how do i go about doing this?

I am curious what purpose the solenoid is going to serve. I was thinking about doing the same thing for a carburated chevy. I havent quite convinced myself of the safest way to do this. This link will take you to the relays page, look at the first diagram, but you will need a larger cap to get 4.5 seconds. I think something like a 10K microfarat cap is close.

You might need to use the momentary to constant diagram and then the constant to momentary diagram if the button you wish to use as the trigger is only momentary.

i want 2 use the solenoid 2 open the door from inside so i can get rid of the ugly interior handle
