All the audible "chime" sounds are sent through the vehicles sound system and play through the front door speakers. Is there a way to disable this function? I work a night job delivering papers and have to frequently open front and sliding doors and the chime sounds are very loud. Im hoping there is a wire in the sound system or stereo harness that can be cut to stop this. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
If it chimes with doors open, couldn't you put a toggle switch to the BCM wire that is the all door trigger? GRAY/BLACK (+) AT BCM MODULE TO LEFT OF STEERING COLUMN BEHIND DRIVERS SIDE OF DASH (PLUG C1 - PIN #43).
That maybe the easiest way. You can add a relay if you wish to not use the switch for the whole current load.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
I will have to take a look at it and see. With all my previous cars it was easy, there was a seperate module that emiited the chime that could be unplugged or tape over the hole in it. Does this wire have to be on a switch/relay or can it just be cut entirely? I can add a tongue/spade connecter to reconnect b4 trade-in.
It controls door trigger for dome light at the BCM so I would just put a switch inline at least.

Put a switch inline on the necessary door pin circuits. Each door has it's own circuit at the BCM under the driver's side dash to the left of the steering column. Without the driver door pin hooked up the radio won't shut off until after 10 minutes. The chimes shouldn't be that loud though. You could also just install switches on the front speaker wires.

Ok, so this is what I found: I tried disconnecting the grey wire - no luck, just shuts off the dome lights. I tried disabling the doorpin switch fo the door i need disabled - resulted in disabling the "door ajar" message, but still chimes when put in gear. So what i need is no chime with door ajar while in gear- so i can drive with passenger slider open.
So its not necessarily the door being open that sets off the chime, its being put in gear. I tried disconnecting one by one all the connectors running down from steering column - no luck. I pulled out the stereo and disconnected the small connector next to antenna input - no luck. BUT when i disconnect the main stereo connector BINGO no more ding.ding.ding...
So if anyone has an exact pin code for the main stereo connector I should be able to isolate it that way. Can also hear a relay kick when shifting in and out of gear which probably activates the chime, but trying to isolate it from the 200 wires in the BCM would take hours.
Any other info would be appreciated, Thx
There isn't one single wire to disconnect. The radio receives the command to chime from the BCM based on it's inputs. If you want to make it easy, use a switch to open the thin orange wire in cavity A1 of the large radio plug. This is the data wire that commands the radio. When you open this wire the radio will shut off in a second or two. Otherwise you would have to open one of the two wires for each front speaker. The chimes only come through them. Tan and gray for the driver's and dark and light green for the passenger's.
