Hi. I have a 1989 Ford F-350 4WD. It has an OEM Trailer towing relay and a wire that is described as the "brake controller-blue/black". I'll be installing a new "brake controller" to activate/modulate the electric brakes on the towed trailer, so here are my two questions:
1. Shouldn't I be able to find a blue/black wire lead near the brake pedal to attach to my new brake controller?
2. Can I assume that this blue/black wire will not only control the brakes but also activate my brake lights? Or...if the controller modulates brake pedal activity by sending less than 12v to the brakes sometimes, do I have to run a separate brake light line?

OK...two and a half questions, really. Thanks. Dave

Brake Lights GREEN (+) AT BRAKE SWITCH
thats the wire for your vehicle that reads 12v when the brake is applied, this wire also activates the brake lights. You can wire this wire at the switch or somewhere in the harness to the rear of the vehicle.
