2007 chevy tahoe factory nav radio

Hi,

I have the wiring diagram for the 4 connectors to the NAV radio, but am confused as which wires are for video input?

I found the output wires (5 of them = audio Left+/Right+/- ground and video +/- wires) that allow for external monitor and remote headphones to be used.

But on the same connector I see Auxilary information but not enough description is given(unlike the other wire positions). I'm thinking there should be another 5?

When playing the AUX input it asks for either audio or video(audio taken from the from radio jack for MP3 radios/ipods), when I select the video AUX the screen goes blank (still has buttons to go back to audio aux), so there is an input but don''t easily see it on the connector diagram.

So far, I've already made/setup the VSS, rear camera, sub output, center channel outputs, and DVD video/audio out connections.

I only need the input jacks for video aux in(and sound if possible).

Also, It would be cool if I could get the NAV map outputted to external monitors for passengers to see it in the 3rd row(like on some air planes).

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Does anyone know of a factory hole or access point to wire a power wire to the engine bay from inside the vehicle? Either side(passenger or driver) will do.

I've seen some vehicles have a rubber plug that can be used to punch a hole in and wire through (thereby keeping water out and no chaffing of the wire cover).

Any help would be appreciated. I'd hate to drill a new hole in the fire wall.

I found 3 spots.

Two are on the same on both drivers and passengers sides. You have to get under the vehicle by the doors and look for a rubber grommet with no wires on it. If you use either of these you'll have to fish the wires through the frame area of the body to the side panel on either side(under dash). These seem more tedious.

A third spot is on the passenger side. It is a grommet but its painted so it looks like metal. Its goes right into passenger side near right corner bolt of seat....not too close, but closest spot. Its relatively easy to use this one.

Its also better to run from passenger side, since battery is there and there are wires to follow up(wire tie to) right to the battery area.

I'll be running the wire later today. Shouldn't take but 5 or 10 minutes.

Watch out when removing the interior trim pieces, as I broke the end clips on the door sile trim piece. No big deal cause the center three clips(big ones) didn't break.   On the side panel there are 2 similar big clips that you have to watch out for too. I broke one of these. But at least one is still good. The carpet and other trim piece will keep it in place.

Man GM is using cheap plastics. My old chevy plastic trim parts took a beating and didn't even break after 15 years!

Can you share some info on how you hooked up the factory camera to your setup.  I'm trying to hook mine up to a new alpine w505.  Not sure where the wires are.  I also have the factory rear entertainment package that I would like to hook up to the alpine. 

basically for the camera. connect power from the backup light and ground at the back. run the video cable to the radio and that should do it. I had to figure out how to wire to the factory radio. if you have alpine and it has a backup feature you'll need to find out how to wire into the reverse gear. If it can activate on the rear light voltage, then wire to the reverse light at the back(run a wire from front to back). Then the radio will show the picture when you put into reverse. you need to have a radio with that feature.
