2008 jeep patriot limited with boston acoustic package. the upgraded audio has a factory sub which is not doing the job. i am going to add a new sub and an amp to power it. the factory has a separate amplifier for the sub and i am wondering if anybody has a diagram of the sub wiring. i came across a digram of the wiring for the main speaker wires listed as c1 and c2 which both connect to the main amp in and out.
i tested what was there and found a constant 12, a accessory on 12 (remote wire or what not) and a ground. but there are two sets of speaker wires (dual voice coil) going into the amp and 2 out to voice coils. i am interested in finding the polarity of these wires going into the amp so i can use them for the new amp.

Disconnect the speaker from the amplifier, now take a 9 volt battery, touch and hold one of the speaker wires to the positive terminal of the battery.  Now touch the other wire to the negative terminal of the speaker.  If the speaker pushes away from the magnet, the wire that is on the positive terminal is the positive speaker wire.  If the speaker cone travels toward the magnet, the wire on the positive terminal is the negative wire.  Do the same for the other voice coil.

well i understand finding the polarity of a speaker and all and even if i found the polarity of the speaker i could figure out the  + - of the connections on the speaker plug and thus the wires + - after the amp . I however want the wire + - before the amp. the wires are not the same colour codes before and after the amp so this is my issue.

             thanks tho
