99-02 Cougar speaker sizes are all 6x8's in the rear side panels and the doors. 5x7's wiil fit as well but for stock they are 6x8s.

In going over the wiring diagrams I saw they were listed as 6"s in the doors and for one year 5x7 in the rear. I just wanted to put this out there so someone can correct it if possible.

If you have a 5x7, or 6x8, you can do a 6 and tweet with a plate cut from ABS.

That, in my opinion, is the best way!

That is what I've done. However for those looking for just stock replacements or ssometrhing with just better sound, its nice to have the correct sizes ;)
